Cara, a Clinical Nutritional Therapist registered with BANT, is located in Oban on Scotland's West Coast. Her consultations extend across the UK, where she addresses a diverse range of health issues for clients.
With a focus on preconception, fertility, pregnancy, birth, and hormonal well-being, Cara's background as a pediatric nurse shifted after a horse riding accident led to a spinal injury. Her recovery journey emphasised the impact of nutrition, targeted supplements, functional tests, and lifestyle changes, prompting her to pursue Clinical Nutritional Therapy.
Passionate about the biochemical effects on the body and its interconnected systems, Cara empowers her clients with knowledge of the transformative power of food. She tailors simple, evidence-based interventions, always considering each client's unique circumstances at the core of her protocols.
Cara's qualifications include a diploma in Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathy from the College of Natural Medicine, along with specialised training in infant and child health, fertility, pregnancy, and hormonal health through various reputable institutions.
In her free time, Cara indulges in swimming in Scotland's lochs and seas, hiking mountains, and cycling around the picturesque Scottish islands. She has a keen interest in recipe development and cooking, often creating new dishes in her pink kitchen for her clients to enjoy.

The program generally kicks off with an introduction to the Wim Hof Method, and always includes a breathing session and an (optional) ice bath. At the end there is ample room for reflection, and the Instructor is there to answer questions throughout the workshop.
Instructors have their own specializations, and there is some variation across the individual workshops. A detailed overview of the day is sent out upon registration.
If you have no prior experience with cold exposure, we recommend you finish your showers cold in the days leading up to the workshop. This may be overwhelming at first, but just try to relax, focus on your breath, and bring it into a controlled, steady rhythm.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for everyone, but does require a basic level of health. Out of precaution, we advise against participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before starting the Wim Hof Method.
Health forms will be required to fill out before the sauna, please also refer to out Terms and Conditions before considering sauna use. 
Jeltje qualified as an instructor in April 2024 after having practiced the method for several years herself. The method has brought her so many benefits in her personal life and she can't wait to introduce others to it.
Her journey into discovering the Wim Hof Method started when she struggled with tiredness from returning to work after treatment for blood cancer.
Connection with nature and the land is very important for her, and she aim 's to integrate this into her teaching style.
Her professional background is medicine; She work's as a GP for the NHS. She is also a researcher and teaches at one of the medical schools in Scotland.
